Layers of Time"
The word gyeol—the grain, the texture—holds within it the flow of time and the traces left in its wake.
Just as annual rings bear witness to the life of a tree, the earth, too, possesses its own unique grain.
This grain of the earth is never fixed.
Where the wind brushes past, ripple-like traces remain; even at this very moment, nature ceaselessly refines the earth's surface.
It is the lingering mark of a deep conversation between the earth and the air.
In a fast-changing world, we often live forgetting the solid ground beneath our feet.
For humans to live upon the earth's grain might mean learning to read its inherent flow, restoring our connection to the primal rhythm of the world.
Sometimes, I long to pause and feel the texture of the soil, the coarse patterns of the stone.
The earth never hurries.
It simply follows its own grain, silently recording eternity.
